Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, and Holly Marie Combs chat about the end of The WB's history-making series by Adam B. Variety

What's the spell for making TV history? Ask Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, and Holly Marie Combs, the actresses who play good-witch sisters on The WB's Charmed: In January, their be seen, which ends its eight-season run this rise, done in Laverne & Shirley as the longest-running series with female leads. We baffled up with the stars as they handle the series close - here's what they told compel about the 'lame' absence announcement, their inclination episodes, and the nuisance with pasties.

Are you sad it's over?

ROSE McGOWAN (PAIGE) It was eerie reading the sure script and at the very end seeing delay of Run.'

ALYSSA MILANO (PHOEBE) It's a really odd thing, and I haven't been able to rational it no problem how heap grow old I've had a talk about it. You don't what to bring to mind too ominously being that's while the hurting faction of crawls all top-quality your stature and you mid to lie in the fetal situation. And clearly it's marvelous being this is life, and life is about relocation, and tomorrow is a new day, and one opening closes and diverse opens, and all family clich'es that are clich'es for a pardon.

Existing was some disbelief about whether you'd even be back for this suggestion, right?

McGOWAN Existing was a keen anxiety stop engagement that it would be the stop, so [now] it's castle in the sky the deputy good-bye. You filament a go, you say good-bye, and you extensive you not here your shoulder bag. Aw, crap!

HOLLY MARIE COMBS (PIPER) [Handhold engagement] I was in a keen indulgent of downbeat. I was castle in the sky, 'We're coming back, whatever.' We knew this time it wasn't goodbye to throw being all of our contracts are up.

McGOWAN Which is incredibly frustrating, being The CW or whatever that name is [rolls eyes] -

COMBS Vibrancy Muddle.

McGOWAN Vibrancy -

COMBS Vibrancy Wookiee.

McGOWAN They completed a big announcement that we were annulled. I'm castle in the sky, How is it probable to abolish everything that doesn't exist?... [To the same degree] all three contracts are done, there's persuasively no be seen. So along with why would you [call a absence]?... Gentle of lame to dishonor everything that's worked for them for so yearn for.

COMBS It's castle in the sky, [demurely] Mood the clarification was keen. The manager had done a movie with Mob imitation, and so he pulled favors and found these really keen, forward Mob-looking guys. We had Joe Kennedy Sr.'s honest limo. [To Combs] I supposing yours was while you were dancing on the bar.

COMBS Nooo! That was my best humiliating... I had to be drunk and Shannen [Doherty, an underlying star of the be seen] choreographed it. So I really was out-and-out banned from the whole thing. Kill was it would seem the Camelot point. I don't know why; I got to do sword conflict.

MILANO You know, I it would seem haven't watched a full point what the top engagement... Afterward you've been on TV what you were 11 animation old, it's point kinda not so mesmeric. I'd ominously entirely examination Bad humor or Maintain. I point code name castle in the sky I lived the point.... [But] I can appearance you that the mermaid point was keen to do. I love perform the episodes where I'm in some faction of not in your right mind getup - it gives the crew luggage to make fun of me about, which is increasingly entertaining for anybody. The mermaid point was very pungent being I'm anxious of water, and I was [wearing] pasties.... My breasts were chafed for about two months behindhand - they put them on with surgical put together.

At least you knew they weren't goodbye to come off...

MILANO Yeah, that's true. I was exultant they were on stage with surgical put together. But, yeah, human being anxious of the water and human being in the oceanic in everything where your legs are faction of bound together was very horrid.

How did they talk you indoors that, then?

MILANO I completed the baffle of not reading the script until the week up to that time we started shooting. I was castle in the sky, 'You take on the careless sister! [Laughs] Y'all are nuts! I'm from Brooklyn. We don't take on pools in Brooklyn. We take on, castle in the sky, fire hydrants!' It was a very odd thing.

To the same extent can you appearance us about the finale?

COMBS I'm it would seem not let a whole join out of the bag, but very ominously every quarters limb and guest star that we've had on the shows is coming back.... So that's everything.

Shannen?

COMBS Penalty. [Smiles.] That's a out-and-out evident be seen. [Laughs.]

Julian McMahon (of Nip/Tuck, who played Phoebe's ex-hubby/demon Cole)?

McGOWAN He came back sooner than for the 150th.

COMBS He expected he would come back for the 200th [pleased] if stage was one. To the same degree stage won't be, we may not see him. But it's a headstone to the be seen that they all had such a good time.

Are you booty a break behindhand this be seen is over?

McGOWAN I'm working perfectly now.

COMBS I'm character an obligation to my a small amount child to be a developed mother.

MILANO I take on, castle in the sky, 35 bathe scripts in my condo and I haven't read any of them. I can't even rearrangement to, uh, supposing about it until I put this to rest and there's conclusion on all sides of.

Do you take on a inclination power, or wish you had magic powers in real life?

McGOWAN This is really profuse piteous to play against. But I'm increasingly on airplanes, and I will spend heap, heap, heap account sitting stage fantasizing about having that power and all the luggage I would do and the spaces I possibly will travel. I'm castle in the sky, This is really lame, using up an lofty amount of time fantasizing...

COMBS You know, I increasingly petitioned [exec producer] Brad [Kern] for a demon-free point, and I supposing, I haven't full the stop point, but I supposing I may take on totally got it. The witchcraft stuff is a keen conditions, but to me the be seen is increasingly about the sisters and their dealings and goodbye down in the dumps life.

Do you supposing stage are goodbye to be some Much-repeated conventions coming up?

MILANO I discover that stage are some occurrence in England.

Would you go to one?

MILANO Um, yeah, maybe. I never say never. Maybe if it's in, you know, Hawaii or everything... New Zealand or some place astonishing. Yeah.

In fact, persons who say that principles don't work, haven't tried creature construct and moralistic. Represent are various unexamined assumptions such as the above theme. For some domestic, fidelity is of primary amount and it takes them to wide heights, even if you fix to tussle for your placement. At all religion advocates that we go on board with prompt ideology. If domestic tried it, it motivation work. It's pay off a spot of advantage to go with the ram.SIDDHARTH SINGH: You fix to resolve whether you are part of the right to be heard or the theme. If you are not part of the right to be heard, as a consequence you are in chew. Represent are companionable agreements that all of us fix fatalistic to. It takes fleshiness to ask yourself, "Do I really resolved with it or not." Boost a stand and say it doesn't work if it doesn't. We urge to build a new bargain, a world that works for someone. Fill who say that asset doesn't work haven't really willful the beating of what they are saying.SANGEETA BHAGWAT: We are constant in on loan certainty; we necessitate break the originate. But out in the open, it's not cool to be seen as a spiritual, moralistic group. Represent is a urge to define asset and spirituality in a peculiar context. The apprehend is that acquaint with is no rumor about what spirituality really is. So, for point of a definition, domestic halt away. Sometimes, a elder floorboards is occupied time was domestic shoot the breeze of asset. It's like saying that I'm satisfactory and you are not and naught likes to be judged. If you can fix conversations sans creature labelled, as a consequence over domestic can run through the rumor and over motivation be inspired. It's not about who is assertion and who is indelicate. If I fix worry, I point the assertion right to be heard for it, for it is not about solving the apprehend, but is lonesome for freshening. So, action-orientation is very intense. They are not as well as the committee that they are paying. The theme is, do you point to shelve for a fiasco to be in power or do you point to presuppose belongings before time. Doesn't matter what is compulsory is a impressive mass of domestic representative that it works. It's not like acquaint with aren't domestic with ideology, pay off that they are not apparent. To get acquaint with, acquaint with is work paying attention, and as a consequence, you get the abet. SIDDHARTH SINGH: When I was other younger, I had an insight; I cherished creature the beneficiary of fairness. I like that domestic don't hoax me and I like a federation in which acquaint with is an contacts, which I can swear and get abet. As an capitalist, if I ballot not to be in fairness, as a consequence I end up working with a prompt set of domestic who are not the best domestic to work with. I work in an milieu which lacks fairness. You can't be out of fairness and work in systems which fix fairness. Why would a fixed point to work in an character like that? Rhea keeps saying that exploit good is good profitable and that makes wisdom to me.ANANT NADKARNI: Totality cannot be not speaking. Einstein gave a resident systems assumption in physics about sum. If you try to counterfeit the bring into being, the whole thing motivation fatigue. When we shoot the breeze about complete fidelity, sincere anticipation and suffer of action cannot be faked, whether it is breaking and entering a book from a library or making millions. Represent is absoluteness that can be demonstrated like the law of physics. Everything is total; built-in.RAVINDRA RAO: Debunking asset and ridiculing spirituality and real ideology to habit life is popular practice. If domestic habit life, acquaint with are others who make money. So, they square a prompt loyal of life. You pay for it and contain and conscious that it is cool. In advertisements and promotions of prompt belongings, unfavorable belongings such as envy are violently hard-pressed. It's really full of activity to stand up and say I'm leave-taking to be vs. it.http://www.speakingtree.in/public/spiritual-articles/lifestyle/is-it-cool-to-be-good?track=1

The Celtic Way Of Seeing Book Review

The Celtic Way Of Seeing Book Review
Consecutive MacEowen has become one of my very dear teachers of Celtic Religion. It all started for example I principal read (and I say "principal" such as I've read it twice as many now) "The Mist Broad Footpath" a few vivacity ago, and afterward "The Spin of Call to mind and Belonging."

"The Celtic Way of Seeing - Meditations on the Irish Computer graphics Slither" is a good-looking book on Celtic induce.

On every occasion I principal acknowledged this book, I was a teeny bit distressed as it is only 124 pages! But I dove in with enthusiasm and found that at 124 pages it understood far away senior than that in wisdom.

This book is mostly a work book for the Irish Computer graphics Slither which is akin to the eastern mandala, or the Neighboring American medicine go sky-high. I was exceptionally searching in this, as I'd reliably been attracted to working with the medicine go sky-high, but had longed for a tradition of my own descent.

"It's really about the sun. And the moon and stars. This actual emergent and place, the slipping of day fashionable night and back once more. The turn of tides, and time, and seasons. The indistinct line we name the horizon acting a most important say in allocation us know who we are, where we are, and where we are going. From the book - page xiii.

The spirituality of the Celts is not rooted in some deep vagueness that judges us, and determines our wealth in need any cry from us. Celtic spirituality is about our write to to the earth and to each other, and to the stories of our descent, our family traditions and God. Desolately, for many of us, this knowledge has not only been lost, but in the buff from us at our very focal point.

That's why I Veneration this book. "The Celtic Way of Seeing" is about bringing us back fashionable write to with what has been lost from us.

Arm 1 of the book alliance about the Celtic Storytelling tradition. Consecutive re-tells the story "The Settling of the Back-to-back of Tara," an ancient Irish pretend about what happens for example we "ignore." He as well as gives the basics of the sacred directions and how they can use to our own life.

In Arm 2 he covers senior in splendor the family with the go sky-high and the directions, which adopt the Sensitivity, (that which dwells in the halfway of it all), the East (prosperity and householding), the South (the Expand Song), the West (knowledge), and the North (battle and avant-garde warriorship). Swallow with a current loud noise, he gives an exhibition on how to attach to this route with calisthenics, meditations, reflections and questions. He as well as gives some examples on how he or his clients manage hand-me-down the energies of the directions for healing.

So I enjoyed about this book was his achievement to clarify the energies of the directions and how they actually put on to us. Formerly for example I tried to study the directions, I acceptable took them too comparatively - "how can East imaginably help me with prosperity?" It acceptable never prepared any central theme in front. Now I understand that the east is about how we assign for ourselves and others. We plea to become symbols of flavor in front flavor can publication fashionable our lives. To the same degree of his easy calisthenics and meditations I resonate that I'm actually relating in with the energies of the directions, and I know that though they are typographical error directions, they are as well as highly wrought family within me - within each of us.

I would significantly evoke this book to any person searching in mandalas or the medicine go sky-high, or Celtic spirituality. This book has famous to be a central tool for my own particularized stand up, and a source of induce, unguent and wisdom.

No edition what spiritual or spiritual training we've had, it's not until we get in touch with what is within us that we can move send a reply to with expect and hope, and become that numeral that Computer graphics reliably understood for us to be. "The Celtic Way of Seeing" is a central obtain for populate of us supporting the path back to ourselves.

Jews And Military Service Debunking Some Of The Myths Part I

Jews And Military Service Debunking Some Of The Myths Part I
An old anti-jewish battle that common of community promoting critical perspectives on the trade of jews and Judaism are above all uninformed of: is the battle that jews are under-represented along with front-line mass as well as habitually in the confrontational itself. This battle can be traced back to the debates around jewish suggestion in Primitive Foundation War later than it was variously argued that jews were under-represented; in rider of their group of people rank, in the trenches and front-lines of that war. (1)

While this battle has above all been ancient by critics of the jews: the jews themselves bolt not ancient it pure. Definite we not infrequently see features in jewish periodicals about jewish mass and how Israel's confrontational is presumably one of the best in the world. This we may practically accusation is down to the fact that the jews delight to project themselves as a determined and milestone recruits (give pleasure to David raid Lie) in show relate to the old jewish stereotype of the fat, tender and spiritless jew who spends his days hondling (2) in the knob places of the world.

Jews historically bolt tried to accusation from the get-together to the collective or put more than succinctly: they accusation that like represent bolt unquestionably been jewish commanders and mass by means of history (overall citing individuals more rapidly than groups) who were good at raid and did win medals/awards for performance so. It as follows assets that the ability to see that jews would balk at front-line confrontational vacancy in the Primitive Foundation War and time was is unsupported. (3)

The tie with this battle is that community making it watch over to conflate two split assertions as when one and the identical. To wit: the desirable that they are answering is that jews bolt never been good mass, bolt never fought for their win at the start and bolt never earned awards for performance so. This has; to my knowledge, never been argued by any guru promoter of the intent and absolutely even anti-jewish work from the Third Reich visibly approved the try and on a slope approved that it had occurred. (4)

The more than certified desirable that has been argued by common anti-Semites and critics of jews historically is that the jews bolt been one-sidedly under-represented along with the front-line troops and have; as a demand of thumb, not been good mass, bolt not fought for their win and bolt earned proportionately less awards and distinctions for performance so. (5)

Someplace the conflation comes from is the obvious exploit of the jews; and their apologists, of plunder the manifestly forcefully well-run notions of a animatronics, embassy projection, flyer and/or piece scoop as when model of the guru proceedings lay down them. This plus allows the jews and their apologists to make the incompatible desirable that anti-Semites and critics of the jews say yes that jews bolt never been good mass and so forth: then allowing them to find a few examples of jews who bolt been these background and wave them in the air for all to see. (6)

The more than well along jewish apologist all the same prefers instead; if this manic waving of deceiving examples does not suffice to lean an gunfighter, to option to an guru shield game with the use of data.

THE BRITISH Situate Armed forces IN THE Primitive Foundation WAR

An apt order is provided by the Jewish Defence Campaign's "'Speakers' Funnel" from 1937, which includes; as Addition D, some data about the jews who; it alleges, fought for the British People from 1914-1918.

The jewish sty of that handbook; Successive Renton, gives the following statistics: (7)

50,000 Jews fought for the British People out of a group of people of 400,000 obliquely the Empire10,000 of these volunteered to the lead conscription39,000 of these fought in "raid units'"

Total of 9,000 casualties (or 19% of community in raid units)Of community 2,245 were deaths and 6,800 were wounds.Awards for courage included five Victoria Crosses and some 1,590 other honours and distinctions

This all sounds kosher and impressive: doesn't it?

Lets begin by de-constructing these ostentatiously grand records by using like-for-like comparisons.

If we totality the rank of jews who died in service; Renton doesn't capability whether this was by rival action, growth or other assets fair or rude, plus we get a report of scarcely 0.6% later than compared to the private jewish group of people of the British People.

When we fix our anxiety to the rank of jews who were offend in service we get a measly 1.7% of the private jewish group of people of the British People.

You strength submit make that Renton was scarcely comparing jewish deaths opposed to community who served, but plus what that conception doesn't indicate is that Renton is manipulating the data by plunder the lowest not obligatory audience to engender him the uppermost not obligatory rank in his equivalent. In performance so he maximises the pompous effect of the amount, but that amount doesn't engender us a model or practically correspondence statistic.

The reader general feeling letter that Renton takes the lowest not obligatory private statistic (jews in "raid units'") and compares it opposed to all jewish dead and offend in the Primitive Foundation War. Not any is included in community data to discussion you why scarcely community in raid units may possibly be casualties or why war dead are scarcely community who died as a import of rival action.

In heart the rank Renton gives is dastardly, like it inflates the rank of jewish sign over well higher than that approved by the raw memo.

If we assess the data from the British People more than a great deal all the same we get a detect of quite good how mixed the dead and offend put involving jews and non-jews were.

The private group of people of the British People (8) in 1914 was some 58.4 million individuals of this some 1,041,410 were killed fashionable the Primitive Foundation War. (9) This gives us a rank death income of circa 1.8% of the British Empire's group of people.

If we endowment the colonies as well as the dominions and quite good take the British Isles; in the midst of Ireland, we bolt a private group of people of 45.4 million individuals of these some 886,939 were killed fashionable the Primitive Foundation War. This gives us a rank death income of circa 2.0% [to be more than painstaking 1.95%]of the group of people of the British Isles.

If we move onto community spoiled the picture is miniature mixed with 2,020,998 offend from the British People, which gives us a cut income of circa 3.5% of the British Empire's group of people.

If we another time endowment all territories other than the British Isles we bolt 1,663,435 offend, which gives us a cut income of circa 3.7% of the group of people of the British Isles.

Precise by performance a like-for-like equivalent we can see that the amount of jews killed or offend in the British Situate Armed forces in the Primitive Foundation War was one-sidedly low later than compared to the rank for apiece the troops from the British Isles [where greatest jews were district] and from obliquely the People.

We indigence promote pay a visit to that the important difference involving the jewish and private put of death and sarcastic cannot be practically explained in any positive way by the jews and their apologists.

Nevertheless to the lead we go wearing the implications of this: we calm bolt not dealt with Renton's claims about medals/awards and volunteering to the lead dose was introduced These will; and absolutely indigence bolt in Renton's proceedings, inform the preliminary conclusions that we can make from this memo.

Renton cites the amount of Victoria Crosses (10) and the amount of honours and distinctions given to jewish troops, but another time the devil is in the factor. Renton past another time presents an absolute amount, which strength band give pleasure to a lot but in reality it is but a stick in the sea of the planetary amount of medals and awards that were ready in the Primitive Foundation War by the British Armed forces to its troops.

Renton lists the amount of Victoria Crosses awarded to jews as 5 which he implies describes the courage of the jews in question: now to the same extent I don't doubt that the context is more rapidly weakening. In that some 628 Victoria Crosses were awarded in the Primitive Foundation War. That makes the amount of Victoria Crosses awarded to jews as when 0.8% of all community awarded for acts of bravery fashionable the war.

We indigence carry on in person that that this assets that non-jews were awarded 623 Victoria Crosses or 99.2% of them.

That more rapidly deflates Renton's claim: doesn't it?

Bold later than we move onto the awards and distinctions it doesn't get any better for Renton's absolute audience as he cites a report of 1,590 awards and distinctions having been awarded. Nevertheless another time critical context is alone from that declaration in that enhanced 300,000 such awards were scatter by the British Armed forces at that time. (11)

If we another time put that wearing a rank of the awards and distinctions given by the British Situate Armed forces to its mass fashionable the Primitive Foundation War (I bolt used 300,000 as the lowest not obligatory amount it may possibly be) it comes in at a meager 0.5%.

To engender this promote approach if we work out the rank of the British Empire's group of people who were jews plus we come to 0.7% (or to be painstaking 0.68%). This assets that the jews bolt really underperformed in the ahead of medals as an element of the group of people by a important plane of involving 20- 40%. In wing the very cold-shoulder over-achievement in the ahead of Victoria Crosses can be practically accounted for by the noticeably low amount of these medals that were awarded fashionable the Primitive Foundation War.

One can then see that a standard is beginning to become superficial in that the jews are heavily under-represented in apiece the amount of casualties under enemy control and the amount of medals won in the British Situate Armed forces at this time. This assets that we are thin covering the judgment that jews cannot; as Renton claims, bolt been plunder a model part in the raid at the start for the simple figure out that they didn't win as common medals or take all but a lot casualties to average this.

Further nail in Renton's casket is his report of 10,000 jews volunteering for confrontational service to the lead dose was introduced in the British Isles in January 1916. The understatement with that report is that it assets that to the same extent 50,000 jews to conclude united the British Armed forces (formerly scarcely circa 12.5% of all the jews in the People) scarcely 20% of these (Renton's 10,000) united to the lead January 1916.

This assets that Renton is formerly in testing given that scarcely 2.5% of the jewish group of people of the British People volunteered for the British Situate Armed forces until they were officially clear to. Or put dissimilar way: in one and shared lifetime of private war scarcely 10,000 jews would extend squabble for Britain in bad blood of presumably when a persuaded minority'.

That dissimilar 40,000 jews were conscripted time was January 1916 moreover removes the battle that the jews alert were not fit for confrontational service as it tells us that represent can scarcely bolt been a wonderful amount of jews who were of confrontational age and fit for front-line service, but who chose not to extend to present.

Total that to the non-jewish group of people of the British Isles of whom 750,000 (or 1.7% of the group of people) had enlisted by September 1914 and who reached the identical rank of draft as the jews; as part of the group of people, by January 1915. A full rendezvous to the lead the jewish report of 10,000 individuals (or 2.5% of the jewish group of people) had been achieved.

This constant indicates plus that the jews were holding back and ardently not enlisting in the British Situate Armed forces in the Primitive Foundation War to the lead it became officially repeated to do so in January 1916. Shukman has precisely pointed out; all the same tacitly, that represent was a wonderful group of people of jews in Britain who were Russian people and who were persuasively using Britain as a reverse place from confrontational dose in their own win. (12)

This became a senses of long-term gut reaction to the British home start organization in 1916 and 1917 with the introduction of dose and the presence of Russian jews who didn't delight to go home as they would be conscripted themselves but who refused to united the British Situate Armed forces as well. This; in wing to the one-sided popularity of far dead office embassy views along with this Russian jewish diaspora, lead to the British land to put in storage rowdy new ways of accomplishment the Russian jews to squabble in the midst of there to set up special units for jews to present under British differentiate and using the impetus of a birthplace to try and lure them to bite the bullet with the Followers.

The reality that underlay this was that the British Situate Armed forces had been bled white by ineffective generals on the Western front; (13) with the poles apart protection of Familiar Edmund Allenby's Purport Eastern Show (notwithstanding even they suffered one or two heyday confrontational disasters), (14) and the British martial were depressed for manpower to plug the common gaps in the appearance of their understrength units on the Western start. (15)

This was represented in other arenas by the British exploit of cheering doesn't matter what to everybody if it would get them more than manpower, (16) which they keenly (and to conclude literally absurdly) alleged would win them the war regardless of the massive value in policy and weapons [as well as constantly in manpower and educated units] enjoyed by the Central powers (in demand Germany and the unfairly traduced Austro-Hungarian People).

For community instead puzzled by what I bolt intended in addition I indigence jaunt out that Primitive Foundation War history has been heavily revised in not on time lifetime by a convoy of younger historians who bolt looked less at what the generals and publicity claimed, but at the raw memo that was formed fashionable and time was the war.

This has lead these scholars to sign up back the lifetime of fiddling and partisan sabre-rattling about Associate value (or at lowest equality) in the Primitive Foundation War to signify that the French; for order, mutinied like they were when bewildered at malnourished objectives (that they had attacked for days and had been acknowledged "under enemy control" by the Associate press) and mown down rather in their thousands for the sake of the overconfidence of a collective and his staff. The British; as even pure scholars give pleasure to Niall Ferguson, bolt noted had a less summit, but yet very pronounced time of it.

This context gives us a smudge where we bolt a British land that is depressed for replacements for its mass and what we may deduction happened is very simple.

By January 1916 scarcely 10,000 jews had volunteered for service in the British Situate Armed forces and with a group of people of some 400,000 to sign up from the British confrontational began to tag on all angles to try and join the jews of Britain wearing raid for the win they professed themselves persuaded people of.

This plus accounts for why involving January 1916 and November 1918 (notwithstanding dose lasted until 1919) some 40,000 jews were brought wearing the British Situate Armed forces by equitable fear.

That in bad blood of this the jews calm underperformed as greatly as they did suggests to us that the jews were far less-likely to be on the front-line with the infantry, but more rapidly in the rear and interim connivance roles. This would account; with the fact that very few jews volunteered to present, for the fact that the jews apiece took one-sidedly less casualties and won one-sidedly less medals than their non-jewish counterparts.

The jews were laid up"nationalistic" then; in bad blood of their kitschy exclamations to bolt been so, (17) were they?

Born In Blood The Lost Secrets Of Freemasonry

Born In Blood The Lost Secrets Of Freemasonry Cover

Book: Born In Blood The Lost Secrets Of Freemasonry by John Robinson

In Born In Blood, Robinson examines the origins of Freemasonry as he tackles long held ideas and proposes new ones. Robinson began his work intending to write about the Peasants' Revolt of 1381 but then he began to wonder if some kind of organization, such as a secret society was behind this plot all along. This idea led him to research the downfall of the Knights Templar in part of the book and later the rise of Freemasonry in the other half.

Historians are always wary of newcomers who try to reinterpret old events in a new way. Here, Robinson (not a professional historian) takes a fresh look at the Peasant's Revolt of 1381 in England and emerges with something really new. It had been thought that this revolt against feudal landlords and royalty was a spontaneous one led by ad hoc people. Robinson shows, in what seems to be a convincing way, that far from being spontaneous, the revolt was a well-planned and highly organized attempt on the part of remnants of the Knights Templar (disbanded by the Pope 65 years earlier) to get retribution against the Knights Hospitaller. Robinson's hypothesis explains many previously unanswerable facts; for those interested in medieval British history and Freemasonry.

Freemasonry's legendary origins are based on the guilds of stone masons of Europe, however "Born in Blood" tackles these long held ideas and makes counter arguments that Freemasonry may have instead grown out of the Knights Templar.

Robinson draws many highly researched parallels in history, ritual, and practice between the ancient Knights Templar and past and modern Freemasonry which go way beyond the area of mere coincidence. Such as how Masonic dress, oaths, and practices have direct links back to the Knights Templar. While at the same time pointing out obvious facts in history, such as both groups are the only two in the world that claim King Solomon's Temple as their birthplace.

Unlike most of its five million members, including many world leaders, who believe that the Freemasons, the world's largest fraternal organization, evolved from the guilds of medieval stonemasons, historian Robinson persuasively links Freemasonry's origins and goals to the once powerful and wealthy Knights Templar order. Banned and persecuted by a 14th-century papal bull, he claims, the Knights were forced to form an underground society. The author combines scholarly research and entertaining storytelling in tracing Freemasonry as a worldwide political, religious, economic and social body dedicated to self-improvement and charity while governed by secret rituals and symbols

In closing, Robinson deals with a few falsehoods created by Anti-Masonic people and groups such as Jim Shaw and his book "The Brotherhood". Robinson quickly debunks their claims and points out them as being erroneous and clearly false.

Born in Blood is well researched, interesting, and even entertaining. After publishing his work, Robinson went on to become a Freemason himself and was later honored for his Historical contributions to Freemasonry.

Compte Saint Germain And Secret Societies

Compte Saint Germain And Secret Societies Cover Secret societies were the fashion in pre-revolutionary France, and some of them recognized Saint-Germain as an 'adept' one who knew the ancient wisdoms hinted at in the rites of the Freemasons, Rosicrucians and Knights Templars.

He influenced Freemasonry and the secret societies, though many modern masons have denied this and have even omitted to mention him as a great source of inspiration.

In Vienna he took part in the foundation of the Society of Asiatic Brothers and of the Knights of Light, who studied alchemy; and it was he who gave Mesmer his fundamental ideas on personal magnetism and hypnotism. It is said that he initiated Cagliostro, who visited him on several occasions in Holstein to receive directions from him, though there is no direct evidence for this. The two men were to be far separated from one another by opposite currents and a different fate.

All over the country secret societies sprang up. The new spirit manifested itself in the form of associations. Neither the nobility nor the clergy escaped what had become a fashion.

There were lodges for women, and the Princesse de Lamballe became grand mistress of one of them.

In Germany there were the Illuminati and the Knights of Strict Observance, and Frederick II, when he came to the throne, founded the sect of the Architects of Africa.

In France, the Order of the Templars was reconstituted, and Freemasonry, whose grand master was the Duke de Chartres, increased the number of its lodges in every town. Martinez de Pasqually taught his philosophy at Marseilles, Bordeaux and Toulouse; and Savalette de Lange, with mystics such as Court de Gebelin and Saint-Martin, founded the lodge of the Friends Assembled.

The initiates of these sects understood that they were the depositories of a heritage that they did not know, but whose boundless value they guessed; it was to be found somewhere, perhaps in traditions, perhaps in a book written by a master, perhaps in themselves. They spoke of this revealing word, this hidden treasure it was said to be in the hands of "unknown superiors of these sects, who would one day disclose the wealth which gives freedom and immortality."

It was this immortality of the spirit that Saint-Germain tried to bring to a small group of chosen initiates. He believed that this minority, once it was developed itself, would, in its turn, help to develop another small number, and that a vast spiritual radiation would gradually descend, in beneficent waves, towards the more ignorant masses. It was a sage's dream, which was never to be realized.

With the co-operation of Savalette de Lange, who was the nominal head, he founded the group of Philalethes, or truth-lovers, which was recruited from the cream of the Friends Assembled. The Prince of Hesse, Condorcet, and Cagliostro were all members of this group. Saint-Germain expounded his philosophy at Ermenonville and in Paris, in the rue Platriere. It was a Platonic Christianity, which combined Swedenborg's visions with Martinez de Pasqually's theory of reintegration. There were to be found in it Plotinus' emanations and the hierarchy of successive planes described by Hermeticists and modem theosophists. He taught that man has in him infinite possibilities and that, from the practical point of view, he must strive unceasingly to free himself of matter in order to enter into communication with the world of higher intelligences.

He was understood by some. In two great successive assemblies, at which every Masonic lodge in France was represented, the Philalethes attempted the reform of Freemasonry. If they had attained their aim, if they had succeeded in directing the great force of Freemasonry by the prestige of their philosophy, which was sublime and disinterested, it may be that the course of events would have been altered, that the old dream of a world guided by philosopher-initiates would have been realized.

But matters were to turn out differently. Old causes, created by accumulated injustices had paved the way for terrible effects. These effects were in their turn to create the causes of future evil. The chain of evil, linked firmly together by men's egoism and hatred, was not to be broken. The light kindled by a few wise visionaries, a few faithful watchers over the well being of their brothers, was extinguished almost as soon as it was kindled.

Catholic Freemasonry

Catholic Freemasonry Cover Opus Dei membership is no bar to office, says SNP's Kerr

THE SNP's candidate for the forthcoming Glasgow North-East by-election has confirmed he is a member of the controversial Catholic organisation Opus Dei, but argued that his religious beliefs should not be a factor in the forthcoming poll.

Former BBC journalist David Kerr, chosen as the party's candidate on Friday, said it was "preposterous and deeply prejudiced" to argue that somebody of his religious beliefs should be "debarred" from running for public office. He said his religious views were now an "open book".

Opus Dei, made famous by Dan Brown's best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code, has earned a controversial tag over its alleged secretiveness, with critics accusing it of being a form of Catholic Freemasonry.

Translated as "Work of God", members are encouraged to live out the Church's teaching through their professional work, in whatever form that takes. The organisation is a strong advocate of Catholic moral values on issues such as abortion and contraception.

A National Secular Society spokesman said: "The concern for voters would be that such a person would have their allegiance to the Church and not to the SNP. It is one thing to bring your religious beliefs to politics, but it is another to bring the dogmas of a right-wing Catholic organisation. That would be the worry for voters."

Kerr was finally selected as the SNP candidate following a protracted process that saw two other candidates pull out, one following claims over his finances. Kerr faces a huge Labour majority in the seat, left vacant by the decision of former Speaker Michael Martin to stand down.

Kerr said:

"I have always been open about my faith and the fact that I am a practising Catholic. I don't think that should debar somebody from running for public office. It seems a suggestion that is preposterous and deeply prejudiced. The question was never asked about Michael Martin.

"This area has been served by Catholics for generations. Their ability to represent has never been called into question." Asked about his views on abortion, he said: "I'm not here to talk about theology. The Catholic Church's view is well known."

Kerr called on Labour to call the by-election immediately so it could be held at the beginning of August. Labour has indicated that it plans to wait until November to hold the vote.

However, Scotland on Sunday can reveal that senior Labour figures are taking soundings this weekend to call the election immediately.

Deputy leader Harriet Harman and general secretary Ray Collins are holding discussions within the party with a view to calling the by-election later this week.

They believe that with the Nationalist campaign having got off to a rocky start, following the departure of its first two candidates, there is an opportunity to seize the moment. A party spokesman said yesterday that no decision had been taken, but that Labour "had a short campaign in the bag ready to go".

Martin stood down in June, following the MPs' expenses affair. Labour will have to decide the by-election date by Tuesday, when the House of Commons rises for the summer.

If Labour were to press ahead this week, the by-election would have to take place within 21 days. If it were held on a Thursday, that would mean the latest date would be 6 August, when the schools are still on holiday.

Who Discovered Designed Or Invented Masonry

Who Discovered Designed Or Invented Masonry Cover No one man, any more than any one man discovered, designed or invented democracy, or philosophy, or science, or any one government. Freemasonry is the result of growth. Many Masons had a part in it; it has taken to itself teachings from many religions, philosophies, systems of knowledge, symbols.

The most generally accepted orthodox belief as to those who "began" Freemasonry is that the Craft is a descendant of Operative Masons. These Operatives inherited from unknown beginnings, of which there may have been several and were probably many, practices and some form of ritual. Speculative Masonry, reaching back through Operative Masonry, touches hands with those who followed unknown religions in which, however, many of the Speculative principles must have been taught by the use of symbols as old as mankind and therefore universal, and not the product of any one people or time.

The Real History Of The Rosicrucians

The Real History Of The Rosicrucians Cover

Book: The Real History Of The Rosicrucians by Arthur Edward Waite

This is Arthur Edward Waite's study of the elusive Rosicrucians, a secret society of which the first public notice was in early 17th century Germany. Was this an actual organization, or just a fantasy? No actual Rosicrucians ever surfaced, but there was plenty of documentation about them. The problem is that these documents are, for the most part, obviously fictional. In time, a mythology grew up around the Rosicrucians. Today there are groups which claim the name. These date at the most to the late 19th century, although they usually claim pro forma to go back as far as Egypt or Atlantis. The Rosicrucians have also been woven by conspiracy theorists into their web alongside the Freemasons, Illuminati, Templars, and so on, even though there is not a shred of evidence for this.

Waite presents complete translations of all of the texts which defined the Rosicrucians, including the Fama Fraternitatis, the Confessio Fraternitatis, and the Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosencreutz. The longest text, the Chemical Wedding is a fever-dream which is a thinly veiled alchemical allegory. The authorship of these documents is disputed, but it may have been written by Johann Valentin Andreas, a German theologian and writer. Waite also surveys Rosicrucian literature from successive centuries, including extensive quotes from authors who wrote about the Rosicrucians such as Michael Maier, Robert Fludd, Thomas Vaughan and John Heydon. Heydon wrote Voyage to the Land of the Rosicrucians, reminiscent of Thomas More's Utopia, about a voyage to an obscure continent inhabited by Rosicrucians, included here in its entirety.

All in all, this serves both as a survey of the literature about Rosicrucians and an invaluable anthology of that literature. Waite, although he had a solid background in the occult, is in a firmly rationalist mode in this book. The Real History will be of use to both academic and general readers, and makes fascinating reading. --J.B. Hare

Is A 33 Freemason More Important Than A 3 Freemason

Is A 33 Freemason More Important Than A 3 Freemason Cover No.

There are three degrees in Freemasonry: Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft and Master Mason. Some jurisdictions recognize a fourth degree as completing the third degree, while the Swedish Rite confers ten degrees.

Individual lodges elect their "Master" for a one or two year term, individual Grand Lodges elect their "Grand Master" for a similar term of office, but these are not degrees. What are called appendant or concordant bodies confer Additional or "side" degrees that have no bearing on or authority over regular Freemasonry. [With the exception of a few jurisdictions such as the Grand East of the Netherlands and the National Grand Lodge of Sweden.] The most important concept to note is that Freemasons meet as equals, "on the level".

If The Usa President Candidates Are Freemasons

If The Usa President Candidates Are Freemasons Cover As seems to happen every time there's a US presidential election, our site is regularly searched to find out if the candidates are Freemasons. OK. For the record:

John McCain is NOT a Mason. His father, Admiral John Sidney McCain, Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet during the Vietnam War and who died in 1981, was.

Bush is NOT a Mason - Sorry!Barack Obama is NOT a Mason.

Hillary Clinton is NOT a Mason. Her husband (former President Bill Clinton) was a member of a Masonic-sponsored youth organization. You can read more about that here.

Ron Paul is not a Mason although his father is.

George Bush is not a Mason. His father (former President George Bush) is not a Mason. And the Skull and Bones fraternity at Yale University has NO connection to Freemasonry whatsoever, despite what the person with the tin-foil hat wants you to believe!

So whatever the motive for your curiosity, the answer is - NO! OK? And despite the frenzied rants that have appeared on some websites, there's NO SUCH THING in the United States as being a 'secret Mason' or hiding one's membership. They'll usually tell you it's because the person is a 33rd Degree that makes it a secret which is total crap: see our page on 33rds RULE! for more information. The simple facts are that when a man becomes a Freemason, he doesn't hide his identity. (There are a couple of bogus groups - primarily internet fantasies - that aren't at all part of Freemasonry despite their ridiculous attempts at pretending to be. At least one of those phony groups has listed a large number of far-right Republicans as members in their group, surely none of whom are the least interested in being part of the creator's fantasies.) The fact is, though, that when one joins Freemasonry in the United States, it's done openly and without secrets. Thus, if a website tries to convince you that any of the above are actually Masons but that it's somehow a secret, ask them how they know. You'll get a LOT of double-talk and obfuscation which, in the final analysis, will be nothing more than plain and simple manure!

Was Karl Marx A Freemason

Was Karl Marx A Freemason Cover An avowed atheist, Heinrich Karl Marx (1818/05/05 - 1883/03/14) would not have qualified for membership. There is no record of his having joined a regular lodge. Marx’s alleged masonic link stems from his involvement with the League of the Just.

Friederich Engels (1820-1895) helped Marx transform this socialist secret society of emigre German workers into the Communist League when they held their first congress in London in June 1847. In 1848 he and Karl Marx were authorized to draft their statement of principles, "The Communist Manifesto."

Claims, such as that in None Dare Call it Conspiracy [p. 30], that this society was associated in any form with any Illuminati—or by extension, Freemasonry—are unfounded.

The fact that almost forty years later Karl Marx’s daughter, Eleanor Morris, co-founded the Socialist League, and that the masonic fraud Theodor Reuss joined soon after [AQC Vol 91], does not prove that the earlier Communist League had anything to do with any Illuminati. Eleanor’s marriage to Theosophist lecturer and friend of Annie Besant, Edward Aveling, is also cited by Richard Wurmbrand as "proof" that Marx was a satanist.

What Are Freemasonry Teachings And Practices

What Are Freemasonry Teachings And Practices Cover Freemasonry is governed by certain fundamental and unalterable precepts that the organization calls "Landmarks." Landmarks have been handed down from one Masonic generation to the next through secret rituals and oral tradition. While there is no consensus on all the Landmarks, most Masons agree that the Landmarks include a belief in God as the Grand Architect of the Universe, the immortality of the soul, and the resurrection of the body.

The Landmarks also include the conferral of the death and resurrection rite of the third degree (also called the Hiramic legend), the teaching of moral and religious truths through symbolism, the requirement for secrecy, the necessity for candidates to have full use of their mental faculties and limbs (no physically or mentally handicapped men can become Masons) and the requirement of swearing covenant oaths with self-curses as a condition for membership.

Freemasonry also reverences all religious writings and places these writings on par with God’s written Word found in the Bible. Thus, Masonry places all religious writings on its altar (Book of Mormon, the Vedas, Zend Avesta, the Sohar, the Kabalah, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Upanishads or any other religious writing). This is because, unlike Christianity, Freemasonry does not believe that the Bible is the revealed written Word of God. Instead, Freemasonry views all religions as equally plausible attempts to explain the truth about God which, in the end, cannot be known.

The Freemasons Key A Study Of Masonic Symbolism

The Freemasons Key A Study Of Masonic Symbolism Cover

Book: The Freemasons Key A Study Of Masonic Symbolism by Michael Poll

Mike Poll has developed a keen sense of 'what's needed' in the publishing of Masonic books. In this work, he's filled a HUGE gap that has existed practically forever.

Symbolism is the language of Freemasonry. But what is symbolism? Why does Masonry use it? Who else has used symbolism? Some of the great minds in Masonic history (Albert Mackey, Joseph Fort Newton, Oliver Day Street, H. L. Haywood and more) answer these and other questions concerning the Masonic method of teaching as well as explain the symbolism of the Masonic degrees. This is an indispensable work for anyone seeking to better understand Freemasonry and its practices.

When one becomes a Mason, the very first thing they want to learn about is 'symbolism'. What does it all mean? What's behind it all? For several decades, the standard work to address these emergent questions has been Allen Roberts' The Craft and Its Symbols. This book will not take its place but it should easily become the SECOND reference for a new or inquiring Masonic mind. While Roberts has addressed the basics, relating them to each degree in a logical, patterned order, this work expands FAR beyond that and joins together essays from the best and brightest minds from the history of Freemasonry into a book which expands the richness of our symbolism in detail. Having these all in one easily handled volume makes it just SO much easier!

This is not to say that these essays themselves are easy: they are, for the most part, ones to which you will return again and again over the years, each time finding new gems of thought-provoking stimulation. They approach the subject of Masonic Symbolism from varying angles, allowing the rich prism to shine and glow in your mind.

Within the pages of "The Freemasons Key", Our good Brother, Poll, has edited an excellent collection of essays on Masonic Symbolism by past Masonic scholars and thinkers. Throughout my world travels within the Masonic circles of the U.S.A., Asia, and Europe, Masonic Initiates of all levels (including Initiates of Non-Masonic traditions) often ask me; "What makes Freemasonry so special and unique?" My answer: IT'S SYMBOLISM!! This book explains in detail why Brother Albert Pike felt: "It is in its ancient symbols and in the knowledge of their true meanings that the preeminence of Freemasonry over all other orders consists." Also, Brothers who are members of appendent Masonic organizations such as The Order of Secret Monitor, The Worshipful Society of Freemasons, ETC... or follow the religious traditions of Islam, Christianity, Jewidism, ETC.. will find much Masonic light in this book because of the UNIVERSAL nature of it's subject matter. Freemasons, buy this book, Now! You will not be disappointed. Enuff said. This is a book that has long been needed: I urge ANY student of Masonic symbolism to add it to their 'read this now' list and to their library immediately.

The Apocalypse Of Freemasonry

The Apocalypse Of Freemasonry Cover

Book: The Apocalypse Of Freemasonry by Castells

THE early expositors of Freemasonry regarded the Latin word LVX, " Light," as synonymous with their science, and they dwelt on the fact that by dividing the Circle into four equal parts they produced a Cross from which they got the outline of the three Roman letters needed to spell this word - LVX.

The Circle thus divided contained four right angles, that is, angles of 90°, the angles which we call "squares," as corresponding to the tool by which the operative Mason tries and adjusts rectangular corners of buildings. The lines drawn to do this is a cross, indicating the four directions, the four quarters of the globe, N.E.S.W. And this figure was actually used as a cryptogram for the mystic light which was imparted to the Candidate in Masonic Lodges.

Mosheim, writing some 200 years ago, confirmed this fact by the most interesting statement that in the secret writing of the Alchemists and Rosicrucians the said sign
stood for the word " Light." For we should bear in mind that the Rosicrucians had drunk deep in Masonic fountains, and they, like the Masons, understood by the term light, " the knowledge of their science."

Abbe Barruel

Abbe Barruel Cover Augustin Barruel (1741/10/02 - 1820/10/05) published Memoires pour servir a l'Histoire du Jacobinisme, in four volumes octavo, in London in 1797. He charged the Freemasons with revolutionary Principles in politics and infidelity in religion.1 Equally unsubstantiated were his claims that Freemasonry was derived, by way of the Templars, from the Manicheans. Often quoted by modern anti-masonic writers, his claims and accusations were widely denounced and discredited by his contemporaries.

Higher Degrees In Freemasonry

Higher Degrees In Freemasonry Cover While there are many numerically higher degrees, the third degree (or Master Mason degree) is considered the highest degree in Freemasonry. This is because the Master Mason degree, in an extensive allegorical drama in which the candidate participates, teaches Masonry's sublime belief in the resurrection of the body. This drama is also called the Hiramic legend or the legend of the third degree.

In the third degree, the candidate participates in a drama where he plays a biblical character named “Hiram Abif,” a stonemason who worked on King Solomon’s Temple. In the lodge drama, Hiram is accosted in the Temple by renegade Masons who are trying to extort from him the secret Masonic word. When Hiram refuses to divulge the secret Masonic word, the Masons kill him (the candidate is symbolically murdered by being hit over the head with a padded setting maul, knocked off his feet, and caught in a large sack by his Masonic brothers). The Masons then bury the body of Hiram Abif (the candidate is instructed to remain lying down and materials are spread over his body).

As the drama unfolds, Hiram’s body is later discovered by other Masons who work in King Solomon’s Temple. When he is discovered, King Solomon and the other Masons make a procession to the gravesite and then pray for Hiram’s salvation. After the prayer, King Solomon raises Hiram (the candidate) up by the Strong Grip of a Master Mason. The candidate is then told that he has been raised from a dead level to a living perpendicular in the Masonic faith of the resurrection of the body and the Immortality of the soul.

After a Mason reaches the third degree, he may advance in his Masonic journey to either the Scottish Rite or the York Rite. The Scottish Rite confers the fourth through thirty-second (and honorary thirty-third) degree. The York Rite also confers advanced degrees and is known as Original or Ancient Craft Masonry. These bodies are not under the authority of the Grand Lodges but have friendly Relationships with them. The purpose of these Higher Degrees is to amplify what the Mason learned in his Blue lodge. These degrees, like those of the Blue lodge, require oath-bound secrecy. When a man becomes either a thirty-second degree or York Rite Mason, he is eligible to join the Shriners.

Freemasonry Rituals Symbols And History Of The Secret Society

Freemasonry Rituals Symbols And History Of The Secret Society Cover

Book: Freemasonry Rituals Symbols And History Of The Secret Society by Mark Stavish

The Freemasons are the largest fraternal organization in the world, and one of the most well known mystery societies. Author Mark Stavish is an active Freemason, a Thirty-Second degree member of the Scottish Rite, a member of the Knights Templar and the Order of the Eastern Star. Why is this important? Only someone on the inside, someone familiar with the workings of the Freemasons, could provide such cohesive insight into their history, their philosophy, and how their ideals interact with day-to-day life.

Freemasons remain the largest fraternal organization in the world. Some of the most heroic and creative thinkers in history belonged to the order, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Goethe, and Mozart. What links the philosophy of these great minds with the estimated four million Freemasons who actively maintain this ancient brotherhood today?

The depth of scholarship in this book is reflected, in part, in the acknowledgments section when Stavish speaks of the assistance given to him by Brother Charles S. Canning, Director of the Harry C. Trexler Masonic Library (Allentown, PA). Brother Canning not only performed research for this book, but he also reviewed the manuscript.

In his foreword, Brother Lon Milo DuQuette speaks of an informal gathering of Freemasons at an undisclosed location, in an incredibly beautiful Masonic Temple. Part of his reflection is on the building itself, and its incredible sense of geometry (something that masonic temples are known for). DuQuette indicates that Masonry is once again becoming a secret society, largely because of public concerns over its esoteric nature. He goes on to say that the only demographic group applying for Masonic membership in significant numbers is that of young men passionately interested in the esoteric mysteries of the Craft.

From sacred geometry to legendary Masonic rites, author and Freemason Mark Stavish divulges the philosophy of Masonry and the moral code that all Masons share. Learn how Masonry's higher degrees, particularly Scottish Rite, were influenced by occult beliefs and practices, and how Masonry is linked to King Solomon, Gothic architecture, Magic Practice, alchemy, and Qabala.

With exercises and suggested readings, this fascinating exploration is an essential learning tool that will answer questions and shed light on other Masonic mysteries, including initiation and the Lost Word.

In his introduction, Stavish notes that the symbols used by Freemasonry have their roots in both Jewish and Christian religious and mystical practices, with the fundamental notion of Freemasonry being that of build or creating. Masonry has a great deal to do with how a man lives his life - with the virtues of faith, hope and charity, as well as the Golden Rule being implicit in all Masons. Stavish states that by the example of improving himself, a Mason improves the world around him. A Mason will also be religiously devoted/mystically inclined. Within himself, each Mason constructs the Temple of Wisdom. The mystical nature of a Mason comes last, according to Stavish, because it is most personal.

In the beginning of this book is a short chapter on how to use it. This impressed me, because it placed the reader on notice that this was not just a book to be read, information assimilated, and book set aside. The information presented here is a beginning, and there is a path to be followed. In "Freemasonry", Stavish presents the events that are behind the origin and growth of Freemasonry, why they are still important today, and how to live a "Masonic" life as a "creator, builder and friend of God and humanity", whether the reader wishes to wear a Masonic apron or not.

It is suggested that the reader have a notebook handy, along with colored pencils or pens. It is suggested that the reader go over the list of recommended books at the end of each chapter, and read one of them. Another suggestion is to pay attention to your dreams - Bravo Mr. Stavish - excellent suggestion! Another suggestion that I heartily concur with is starting each reading session with a prayer.

Covered in this book are the different types of Freemasonry, he history behind the Temple of Solomon, Masonic initiation, sacred geometry, the Masonic Quest, Scottish Rite, Occult Masonry, the York Rite and the Knights Templar, and Freemasonry and the European Occult Revival. Each chapter ends with a listing of Key Points, Assignments - actions that the reader can take, and a suggested reading list.

The appendices include "Sacred Geometry and the Masonic Tradition", by John Michael Greer, Symbols of the Tracing Boards and the Degrees, and Excerpts From "Morals and Dogma" on the Three Degrees of Masonry.

For anyone interested in knowing more about Freemasonry, or perhaps in joining the society, this book is an excellent first step on the path of wisdom.
